Books/Movies/TV Shows we're looking forward to

What books/movies/tv shows are you looking forward to in 2013?

B.E.: I was really looking forward to the new season of The Biggest Loser, but so far, every time I find a person I can root for, they lose the weigh-in.  Except for Jackson.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that kid.  He's inspiring.

Whenever someone asks me about what books I'm waiting for, I draw a blank.  I know there are good books about to be released, but until I have the cashola to buy them, I don't think about them.  One I can point to right now is Between by Kerry Schafer.  It's her debut novel and it sounds AWE-SOME.  (And look for a surprise from Kerry right here on February 5th.  I'm so excited!)

As for movies, I can't watch them in the theater, so whatever's coming out will have to wait until it hits television or I shell out the bucks for a DVD.  (But personally, I'd rather save that money and buy books.)

CLARICE: Scary as it is to admit, I'm looking forward to the winter premiere of The Walking Dead, the return of Dr. Who, Falling Skies and Warehouse 13. As far as movies go - I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for Star Trek: Into Darkness. [Confused? Don't forget, I'm only the contemporary ALTER EGO of a paranormal/sci-fi author you may have met once or twice. LOL]

JB: I can't wait to read THE LAST WORD by Lisa Lutz. I've loved all of her Spellman Investigations books. Like Clarice, I'm looking forward to the return of Doctor Who and his new companion, Clara.
I'm not a movie buff (probably because I've written them and find them too predictable).

Tell us KILLER FRIENDS: What's going to keep YOU entertained this year?

I'm the odd-man out, Clarice. I never really got into Dr. Who. (I know... shock and dismay.) And Star Trek lost me with that last movie.

I'll have to look into Lisa Lutz's books, JB. Thanks. =o)

What's interesting about the new Trek movie, B.E. is that it was the one die hard fans NEVER wanted to see. There had been rumors in fandom for years about Star Trek: The Academy Years [which is essentially what the movie was about] and us life long Trekkers would cringe and wail, but having seen it [multiple times] I can say it's the best reboot it could have been. /total geek mode off

I still can't get past the fact that they destroyed Vulcan - when so much of what happens after that point is wrapped up with Spock's people. Heh, total geek mode... not off. ;o)

Movies: Skyfall. Which comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD on 2/12. Yes, the DH and I are sharing it as a Valentine's Day present. We're like B.E. We don't do movies in the theatre either.

Books: again like B.E., Kerry's BETWEEN. I have it in my hot little hands but can't open it yet. *sad face* JD Robb has a new Eve Dallas/IN DEATH book coming out in February. Oh, and Leigh Evans second book comes out in July, THE THING ABOUT WERES. Loved the first book in her Mystwalkers series, THE TROUBLE WITH FATE.

TV: This is tougher. Some of my must-see shows just went on hiatus--Haven, Leverage. Lost Girl just started up again. LOVE this show. Dark, sexy fae. *swoon* I even got the first two season on DVD so I can fangirl out to my heart's content. When I have the time. *rolls eyes* I love Dr. Who but not the Matt Smith incarnation. I am hoping the BBC/PBS version of Sherlock Holmes (set in modern times) comes back soon. I enjoyed it. Not sure when it returns to the schedule. That's what the DVR is for--to keep these things straight.

Ack! I forgot to put House of Cards on my list. I'm a huge Kevin Spacey fan....can't wait to see if this experiment works!

B.E. -- You're not a Whovian? I must rethink your place in this universe. If you read the Lutz books, you MUST read the footnotes -- they're awesome!

I'm not a Star Trek fan (but I'm married to one) and I actually liked the movie.

Clarice -- Who's your favorite doctor? I'm going with Matt Smith (sorry, Silver) then Tom Baker, then David Tennant.

Silver -- We don't do the theater either....last time we went (to see The Avengers ---which I hated) someone spilled soda on my poor DH.

And I read that Leverage was cancelled. :-(
