Got Goals for 2014?

My name is Jen and I'm a compulsive goal-setter.

Therefore, January 1st, is pretty much my favorite holiday.

Most years.

This year, not so much.

Because of seismic life shifts in 2013, I'm feeling more uncertain than excited about the New Year.

But, because, as I said, I'm a compulsive goal setter, I HAVE set a series of goals for myself.

In no particular order:

Work my writing business plan
I'd share it with you, but it might make you cringe, weep, or laugh maniacally…I've done all three when I've studied it. Needless to say, I hope it will make readers happy. This includes more Hitwoman books, the next Spring Cleaning Mystery and hey, have I mentioned my work with Strong Brew Coaching
And because I know someone will ask: Yes, the possibility of the Hitwoman books becoming a TV series still exists…yes, there's been progress made on that front, but no, I can't tell you what it is yet…

Attend Sleuthfest (Okay, this one's a cheat since I scheduled it last year.)

Learn to swim better (this is one of those "I'm hoping practice results in progress" type things)
Make pink stuff for my home (more on this next week)
Have more fun (Yes, that's a nebulous goal, but then again, so is my life path.)

Tell me Killer Friends: Did you make any resolutions or goals for 2014?

OK, blogger is not in a good mood this morning, let me try again...

Great goals, JB - but no running ones??

Love the idea of adding more pink to your house and I look forward to hearing more about that. And Strong Brew Coaching! Just popped over to the FB page - looks interesting.

As for me - just trying to BE (and that's turning into a bigger challenge than I thought it would).

Awesome goals, JB. Like Janet, I'm looking forward to hearing more about your pink project. I've got my fingers crossed for your TV thing. Don't know how I missed the Strong Brew Coaching thing. It looks awesome. I'm so excited for you! Good luck to all you gals with that. =o)

I'm not a huge goal setter, but I guess I did kinda make a few for this year. 1) Take my writing more seriously. Check - 14K since 1/3. 2) Stop following annoying people on FB. Check. 3) Accept myself for who I am - pudge and all. Semi-check.

Great goals, JB! I've never been a goal setter but I need to start. I have things I want to accomplish and I need a strategy to make them happen. So...I have some thinking to do. I read the other day that goals are only dreams unless you write them down. I'll start there.

Janet -- I think to BE is a HUGE (but worthwhile challenge). Good for you!

B.E. -- I like your goals. Keep at 'em!

Karyn -- I think you need to take action to move your goals out of the dream category and writing them down is a great start. :-)

I have only one goal this year--avoid being stupid. (And conversely, avoid stupid people - lol).

If I can manage that, the rest of the year should play nicely. We'll see. The year is young yet. ;)

Silver -- Ummm, that would be an impossible goal for me...

I can dream, JB. LOL
