Frozen Food -- Yay or Nay?

It's National Frozen Food Day so we looked into our freezers and what did we see?

B.E.: Let's see...  I have a couple half gallons of chocolate ice cream and a couple of vanilla, 3 pork ribs, a half a beef roast, scads of pre-patted hamburgers along with several packages of hamburger meat, a bag of frozen chicken tenderloins, half a package of bacon, two pepperoni pizzas, a thing of corn, a thing of teriyaki veggies, a thing of rice with veggies, french fries, meatballs, raviolis and three tubs of homemade soup.  Out here in the country, I buy in bulk and freeze food, or buy frozen food.  Dang, I just realized I'm out of frozen concentrated juice...

JB: In my freezer I've got: Leftover lasagna, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, carrots, peppers, a bag of cranberries, a bag of mixed berries, and a loaf of bread. What a boring freezer I have!

Tell us Killer Friends: What are some of your favorite frozen foods? What's in your freezer?

We do the same as B.E., buy in bulk and freeze. Lots of meat (chicken, beef, pork), frozen veggies, home made soup, muffins, bread/rolls, cheese.

I love frozen food - as in the kind of food already cooked - in fact, it was all I ate before I met The Husband. I may have to go and buy some just to celebrate National Frozen Food Day!!

I have a bag of Sonic ice, a case of cheap burger patties (for mixing with the dogs' dry food), sleeves of lean hamburger, a bag of frozen chicken breasts, a box of Pillsbury pie crust, and frozen veggies of various types. I'm getting my new-to-me fridge Saturday so I'll be cleaning the fridge as it's going to the kids' new home. The one that came with the house is AWFUL! It's a three-way trade so it'll be interesting. The guy doing the moving ends up with the old one for scrap.

Yes, frozen food is a staple in this house. Except for pizza. Pizza arrives fresh (Papa Murphy's) and is baked in my oven when we're ready for dinner. Awesome take-out! :D

Smart lady, Janet. ;o) I used to eat a whole lot more pre-made frozen food before I got married - because I was working full time and didn't want to cook when I got home. Did you buy some frozen stuff for tonight?

Yay for a new fridge, Silver! I think I'd die without frozen pizza here. No Papa Murphy's anywhere and the nearest pizza place is 20 minutes away. =o(

Janet -- You can freeze cheese?? I've learned something new and wonderful!

Silver --Okay, I'll bite -- what's "Sonic ice"? Good luck with the new fridge!

B.E. -- I usually have soup in mine too, but I'd let the freezer run bare since I was going to the conference and hate the idea of coming back to a power outage and spoiled food.

Um, I ate at McDonald's, B.E. :)

JB - yes you can freeze cheese - and if you freeze it already grated, you have it ready for pizza, pasta, lasagne, etc.
